This large and stunning shield is from Northern India. The front is green with an underlying darker foliage pattern. The center medallion and matching edge band are both painted in a multi-color floral pattern. The interior is painted red with gold highlights. The shield is supported with four large engraved brass bosses. 20" diameter. 19th c. Very good condition.
