ITEM # 0016 The Khukuri originates from the mountainous terrain of Nepal and has long been revered as a tool, a weapon, and a symbol of honor. With its distinctive curved blade and robust design, it serves as a multipurpose tool ideal for clearing brush and other mundane tasks while also serving as a very capable weapon. This is an example of a handyman’s Khukuri and was used to repair almost anything that could be found in a mountain village. It has a wooden hilt with silver fittings and pommel cap. Complete with tinder pouch and eight tools with bone hilts (one is a well-made replacement). Leather scabbard over wood with a small steel chape. 17.5" overall. Very good condition. Early 20th c.
