Joulba Style Jambiya

The Tihama region, situated along the western coast of Yemen, is a place of captivating beauty and cultural significance. Jambiya originating from this region vary in style dependending upon locale but are usually characterized by a large and extravagent silver scabbard. This example is a Joulba style, early 20th c. The hilt is Zabidi style and is paired with a Joulba scabbard (a common pairing) and quality forged blade. Both hilt and scabbard are heavy, finely worked silver. 17” overall. Good condition.
