Persian Qama
ITEM # 0029
The Qama has an ancient blade form that can trace its origin as far back as the Roman empire. It is similar to the Caucausian Kindjal but typically has a wider blade and is often inscribed. This example dates to the early 19th c. It has carved I grips secured with steel rivets decorated with gold inlay. The massive forged blade is 14.75" with a well-defined off-center fuller. A large and fine example. Fair condition. Small chip missing from front grip and significant wear to the gold inlay. 20" overall.
