ITEM # 0046 The Omani 7-ring Khanjar is deeply rooted in the culture, heritage and tradition of Oman. Its distinctive design features a scabbard with seven rings, each symbolizing one of the virtues esteemed in Omani culture: wisdom, courage, patience, generosity, hospitality, sincerity, and piety. This traditional dagger, with its curved blade and ornate silver embellishments remains a cherished emblem of Omani identity, reflecting the enduring pride and resilience of its people. This classic example originates in Northern Oman. It has an "L" shaped scabbard with seven rings bound with twisted silver wire. The hilt is horn carved in the standard "I" shape and decorated with heavy silver fittings, medallions and nails. Includes the original brocade belt. Fair condition. Lower portion of dress is comletely worn away. 12.5" overall, 33" belt.
